How we list garage door companies
We want you to be able to trust what you see here, so here's exactly how the directory is put together.
Where the listings come from
Our starting point is the Better Business Bureau's garage door categories. Every company listed there has a physical business address, which keeps out most of the fake "local" listings that are common in this industry. We searched across thousands of ZIP codes so every state is covered, and added franchise locations from company websites where they were missing.
How we check for emergency service
For each company, we found its own website and read the home page plus a service or contact page. We looked for clear statements such as "24/7 emergency service," "24-hour repair" or "available day or night." We ignored phrases that don't mean the same thing, like "24/7 online scheduling" or "we respond within 24 hours."
What the labels mean

| Emergency service | The website offers emergency repair but doesn't say it's available 24/7. |
| Emergency service not listed | The website doesn't mention emergency service. Many of these companies still take urgent calls during business hours. |
| Call to confirm | We couldn't find or reach a website for the company, so we couldn't check. |
Some companies use a shared national brand website, such as a franchise or a manufacturer's dealer network. When that's the case we say so on the company's page, because the brand's claim may not apply to every location.
What we don't claim
Labels reflect what each company says about itself. We haven't made test calls, and hours and policies change. Always confirm availability, fees and pricing on the phone before a technician comes out.
Order of listings
On city and state pages, companies that advertise 24/7 emergency service are shown first, then companies that advertise emergency service, then everyone else, alphabetically. Nobody can pay to move up.
Last checked
Listings were last checked in October 2026. We update the directory regularly and fix reported errors as soon as we can. Report a correction.
